We called it CARMÍN, a bar as unapologetic as they come in the heart of Coyoacán. Full of reds and deep blues, contrasts of contemporary and a retro image: an unmistakable personality.
Maye.mx, the interior design and colorimetry studio, invited us to co-create the identity of the place from scratch. She led the interior design; we took on the branding.
We developed the concept and visual identities: red as the protagonist, typefaces that blend nostalgia with boldness. Carmín means lipstick, but also red—it’s a lesser-known symbol of seduction and sounds like a name, which gives it strong character.
We designed for those who inhabit Carmín each night: trendsetters, curious souls without pretension, couples looking for a good time. We defined values that speak of freedom, diversity, and the joy of shared pleasure.
Finally the symbolic culmination of Carmín resulted in: El Fauno Endiablado (The Devilish Faun) a mascot hybrid between a pagan faun and a Mexican devil (depicted as witty, mischievous but also enchanting).
